PREP

SecureCom’s PREP system is used for preparing (generating) security values and other data required for issue of chip and/or magnetic stripe cards. If the PREP also generates PIN for the cards, a result file to the PIN printing system can be created.

The system is totally adapted to the needs of the customer. The formats of the order and result files, methods for generating keys, PIN, reference values and other card unique data are some of the adaptations we use to do.

For the cryptographic operations, a secure device, typically IBM 4758 or our own secure device - SA8 is used.

The PREP system can either be implemented as a service running without user interaction or as a batch application managed by operators.

Both data for VISA and MasterCard applications can be prepared by the PREP system, but also data for customer specific card applications can be prepared.

The PREP system also has support for decryption/encryption for order and result files.
